AGE REQUIREMENT: Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by an adult. This includes all events (lessons, practices, meets, matches)
Klahaya Swim & Tennis Club was established in 1958 as a facility where families could gather to enjoy swimming, friendships, and other activities. We undertook a major remodel of the facilty in 2008.
Presently there are 240 families. We are open from the middle of May until the middle of September. We have a varied schedule offering a Swim Team, Tennis Team, Lessons, Open Swim, Adult Lap Swimming, an Adult Swim Team, and many social activities.
Klahaya/Innis Arden Adult Social - August 29th - 6:00 - 8:30
Hello Klahaya Families,
Our summer is winding down. We want to keep the good times rolling as long as possible. We will be co-hosting an adult social with Innis Arden on the patio behind the Innis Clubhouse on Thursday, August 29th at 6:00 PM. Please bring a dish/appetizer to share and a beverage of your choice.
Some of you may remember when the ladies of both clubs mixed and mingled a couple of seasons ago. It was a huge success. The guys felt a little left out. This time we are including all Klahaya and Innis adults (over 21) in the festivities. Come one, come all and partake in some neighborly camaraderie.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Be sure to put this on your calendar.
As you know last year we dealt with significant wildfire smoke in our region. This year we have been lucky (knock on wood). That said, the Klahaya Board worked with local authorities to review and establish guidelines for when we should close the facility due to unhealthy air quality.
The following policy was voted on in July and will now be in effect.
Klahaya Swim and Tennis Club will remain open when the Washington State Air Quality Advisory (WSAQA) Air Pollution Level is at Orange (Klahaya staff will be given N95 masks while working on the premises, wearing these masks will be optional). We ask that parents determine if they are comfortable with their kids being outside when the air is orange which is considered “unhealthy for sensitive groups”.
When the WSAQA Air Pollution Level is at Red or above, Klahaya Swim and Tennis Club will close (all scheduled activities will be cancelled and rescheduled). Pollution levels will be determined based on the following website: https://secure.pscleanair.org/AirQuality/NetworkMap
Washington State Air Quality Advisory Levels are defined here.
Thank you for your understanding. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
With the start of season just around the corner, be sure to send in your dues and get your kids registered for Swim/Tennis teams.
Select Register Now. Once you register, your child will automatically be added to the team email lists.
Please note that every minor must have emergency and medical information registered with the club. This information is kept on file at the club and is important to have handy in the event of an emergency. The process is very similar to team registration and can be accessed here on our website. Once you register your first child, scroll down to the bottom and select “back to registration” to register the next child.
If you have never used the registration system before please read the instructions carefully. It will address any issues you have such as your child is listed as “ineligible” or your child’s name is not on your account.
Please contact the webmaster at firstname.lastname@example.org with any registration issues.
We hope that your New Year is off to a healthy start. Our next Klahaya season is right around the corner and your Board of Directors have been working hard to ensure it’s the best one yet. In 2019 we will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of our club and we look forward to celebrating with each of you.
In addition to the 60th Anniversary Celebration we have a great list of events planned, both our Swim and Tennis schedules are complete, and we have been working hard on some key maintenance fixes that should put us in a great place this summer.
The Klahaya Swim and Tennis Club is a special place, one that requires maintenance and a team of people to operate. We want to remind you that none of this is possible without your support and volunteer hours. Each member is required to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours per year (swim and tennis team members are required to volunteer additional hours).
Finally, dues and assessments will be $1,000 this summer due no later than May 18, 2019 to avoid a $200 late fee penalty. You may begin paying this at any time in multiple payments or one lump sum. The fee has increased $30 over last year primarily to support the minimum wage increase.
Important dates to remember:
March 1, 2019: Last day to communicate a desire to sell your membership
May 1, 2019: If you wish to be in the lottery for lessons and/or pool rentals, please have your dues/assessments paid to the club by this date
May 4, 2019: 1 of 2 work parties to prepare the club for season opening
May 11, 2019: 2 of 2 work parties to prepare the club for season opening
May 18, 2019 (OPENING DAY): Last day to pay your dues/assessments without a late fee. Klahaya's late fee for dues/assessments will be $200 this year if paid after Opening Day
June 23, 2019: Tennis Extravaganza
July 9, 2019: First Swim Team home meet
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and as always, we look forward to seeing you at the club this year.
